How odd that people dont loudly get into concerts there,, why even bother to play there then? JET is a high energy band and sooo much fun to see live,, what a waste of their energy and time if people arent going to respond ! Ha! What a bore to play there!

I see every concert they play near chicago and love them! They are also very verbal

before and after the concert, which is very fun for the fan! I have everything signed

by them each time they come here and they are so down to earth and easy going people!

Gotta love the JET BOYZ! Smooches to them all!

Guys,

Just came across this and thought you might be interested. Jetstar is running an air guitar competition where you can win a return trip to Oz to see a JET concert. Accom, backstage passes etc all included. Check out some of the videos!

Larger venues are indeed lacking in crowd participation, which is why I stopped going to most of them. When bands tour in smaller venues though, the crowd is sweaty, rowdy and very receptive. Last night I caught one of my favourite bands in a smaller venue, after they have played countless arena-type festivals, and to watch people finally let go was somewhat of a release in itself. Things are changing slowly since I saw my first gig here 7 years ago, but the rhythmic clapping and "oi oi oi" chants are still going strong. Not to mention coming out of the gig and realising it's not even 8 p.m. yet, early gigs tend to ruin the "rocky" image of a lot of bands...

Yeah, have to sympathise with the bands that come hear to perform at the budokan. Crowd participation is minimal and so it seems a lot of bands tend to give a "go-through-the-motions" set and finish right on schedule. I saw the Foo Fighters there in December and while the band sounded awesome, the energy in the crowd was like watching a game of chess.

I thought the phrase:

"Budokan is such an acoustically-sound venue."

is worth of a Pulitzer.

Well done :-)
